Position Summary
The Lead Tapered Project Manager is responsible for delegating, managing, and executing the tapered estimation and design processes within the established project timelines. This position provides support and leadership to the tapered team, ensuring that projects are quoted accurately and customers are satisfied. The Lead Tapered Project Manager also performs on-site support, creates designs, and provides estimates for the tapered projects
We’re looking for self-sufficient, motivated Tapered Designer for our Surrey location at 8183 130th Street who want to help us expand our fast-growing business.
Responsibilities
- Manage and prioritize the execution of tapered projects, coordinate with production companies, and communicate frequently with clients for the project duration.
- Prioritize workflows taking into consideration urgencies related to bidding and execution phases to ensure that deadlines are met.
- Delegate tasks and projects to the tapered team.
- Provide training and ongoing support to Tapered Project Managers and Tapered Estimators.
- Visit construction sites to take measurements on roofs and ensure that proper ladder techniques and PPE are used.
- Prepare cost estimates and identify materials required for projects by analyzing proposals, specifications, drawings and related documents.
- Use Taper-plus and AutoCAD to produce detailed layouts for accurate, cost-effective estimates, shop drawings, and counts.
- Use Plan Room to download information for upcoming projects and create project files.
- Review client documentation and resolve discrepancies in proposals and specifications to ensure an accurate bid.
- Prepare and present quotations including numerical and descriptive information.
- Collaborate with roofers, consultants, architects, coworkers, and other stakeholders to ensure that design changes are appropriately communicated and obtain clarification on projects as needed.
- Research and upgrade education as needed for new roofing principles, codes, products, etc.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Minimum of 6 years of combined experience in the roofing or construction industry working in an architectural/structural design or project management position.
- Diploma or greater in Construction or Project Management, General Business, Architectural Design, or other related educational experience.
- Knowledge of basic roofing principles and codes and ability to read and interpret blueprints, contracts, specifications, and drawings.
- Previous experience with Taper Plus and AutoCAD preferred.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Professional communication skills with a proficiency in English, both oral and written, is required.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
