THE OPPORTUNITY
If you interested in making a difference and being part of a highly skilled interdisciplinary team that includes dedicated professional practice support, GBGH wants YOU! The Occupational Therapist works to assess, restore, improve, and/or maintain a patient’s ability to carry of the activities of daily living essential to that individual’s quality of life. As an integral member of the interdisciplinary team, the Occupational Therapist conducts standardized and non-standardized assessments, participates in patient focused goal-setting, and identifies appropriate interventions for both inpatients and outpatients.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
The ideal candidate will possess the following:

  • Masters or equivalent from an approved University Occupational Therapy program
  • Registration with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario (COTO)
  • Must be able to function in a multidisciplinary team setting
  • Previous experience working in neurologic, orthopaedic or geriatric populations
  • At least one (1) year experience working in a hospital setting.
  • Experience in the assessment and treatment of stroke, geriatric or orthopaedic rehabilitation populations
  • Basic knowledge of physical medicine and sound knowledge of Occupational Therapy scope of practice
  • Ability to work independently, good time management skills as well as effectively within an interdisciplinary team
  • Must be physically capable of performing the daily activities associated with patient care and occupational therapy treatment
  • Strong clinical, interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated satisfactory work performance and attendance history

  • Salary $40.36 - $56.30 an hour, plus an additional 14% in lieu of benefits (or 10% if eligible to enroll in HOOPP) and 6% vacation

HOURS OF WORK
Part Time. Shifts and hours may change according to departmental requirements and as per the OPSEU collective agreement.
